CHARITY MARCH
2018 was the first year the group travelled to Normandy. We stayed near Pegasus Bridge and were able to visit many of the historic sites around the area, including Hillman, Arromanche, Omaha & St Mere Eglise.
Our main purpose of the trip however was to conduct a march in full period uniform and equipment, following the route of 2nd Battalion on D-Day and D-Day +1 up to Lebisey itself. On the run up to the trip we raised funds through sponsorship with all funds going to the Regimental Museum.
We returned with more members in 2019, raising
more funds for the Regimental Museum. However
the trip was not possible in 2020 or 2021 due to
the Pandemic.
We hope to reinstate the
march in 2024.
